Biomass and Need Storage System

Biomass storage is imperative for regular supply of material in industry using it as a raw material. Storing facilities heavily depends on the type of biomass and their properties.  Storage is essential for smooth functioning of industries heavily depended on biomass. The storage is mostly depends on the amount of moisture in biomass.  While storing wet biomass the storage system and timing should be closely monitored so as to avoid degradation of raw material. It should be closely monitored so it can be available for final use.  One thing should be remember to avoid excess storage of the biomass as to evade loss of quality.

Most of the developed countries have a good and advanced storage system for their biomass. They are equipped with all the modern storage system because of the seasonal availability of raw material. Most Western European countries have made equipped themselves with technologically advanced storage system.  The well storage raw material is then used by biomass industries.  Biomass briquetting machine uses the raw material and generate energy that is environment friendly.  So it becomes even more imperative for countries those have seasonal period.

But when it comes to developing countries such as India the opportunity are huge. As the country is majorly an agricultural country and almost 70% of population is depended on it for employment. So there is a great amount of agricultural waste is produced that can be used as a raw material for booming biomass industry. The raw material is also used by biomass briquetting machines to produce energy requirement of industries. Production of biomass waste in great amount is a positive sign for industries thriving on it.

One of the major of problem country is facing is of storage of biomass waste. Great amount of it get waste before it can be used as a raw material for biomass industry. Most of the raw material gets wasted because of lack of storage system. During harvest season of wheat or sugarcane it produces a great amount of waste. Due to lack of storage system and information about the waste product it is left in the open. This valuable product then goes wasted and of no use before it can be reached to the industries for energy production. Lack of knowledge and infrastructure about biomass among the farmer is also majorly contributing in wastage of biomass.

So, therefore government should actively engage itself in building infrastructure for proper storage of biomass wastage. Infrastructure should be built depending on the type of biomass. These product should be stored as we have discussed earlier according to the amount of moisture contain in it. Besides that the farmer also should be educated and proper information should be imparted on. They can itself build a temporary storage for the biomass and can be used in biomass briquetting machines for their individual usage. Most of them don’t even know that waste produced from wheat, while harvesting them can prove so useful in producing the valuable power needs.
